Proteomics and Molecular Analysis Platform

The Proteomics and Molecular Analysis Platform specializes in finding new functions and interactions among proteins which are vital for the correct structure and operation of the body’s cells and how these proteins are affected by disease. Beyond proteins, the platform also provides services to quantify cellular metabolites, drugs and lipids. Our platform contains the latest instrumentation for a variety of LCMS and ELISA based applications coupled with customized bioinformatics and extensive expertise to assist researchers in interpreting their data.

Overview of Services

Our platform provides a full proteomics and molecular analysis infrastructure with advanced instrumentation and workflows to support your research projects. This includes protein identification/quantification, lipid analysis, biomarker detection and quantitative bioanalytical assays.

Our services include a free initial consultation to discuss with your project with you, a feasibility, study design with costs and timelines and to help decide on the best course of action for your projects’ needs.

What we offer

  1. Analytical sample preparation by our platform technicians
  2. Analysis on state-of-the-art equipment
  3. Extensive follow up for data interpretation, mining and bioinformatics

Getting Started

The Proteomics and Molecular Analysis Core Facility accepts samples from all RI-MUHC Units, and from external users if capacity permits. In all cases, contact us before you send any sample.

To optimise an efficient completion of your project, we ask you to observe the following procedure:

  1. Send us your inquiry

Fill out the service request form, providing as much information you can to help us understand your goals and expectations. After sending the form, a facility member will contact you to schedule the experiment design consultation.

  1. Customized experiment design

Based on the information you provide to us, we will discuss with you the overall feasibility of your analytical project, design an experimental approach that addresses your questions, with associated costs and timelines, and then decide on the best course of action according to your needs.

  1. Fill out the analysis form, and place an order

Once everything is clear on both sides, you will be able to place the order, and send us your samples.

Please note that no analysis will be performed if the order is not approved.

  1. Project begins

Please send off your samples on the scheduled date and notify us of the delivery method, so that we can be on the lookout and store them appropriately upon arrival. Always include a hardcopy print of the service request form in with the samples.

  1. Results delivery

A summary report will be provided at the end of the whole project including the sample preparation, experimental procedure and instrument parameters. Detailed customized reports, data review sessions, exploratory analysis could be provided upon request
